GPA Holdings' Heinrich Zimmerman is going places!

The 1844 cello has been on loan and performed on several occasions during months past. The Zimmerman cello, currently on loan to Miss Lu Bing Xia is expected to perform in Netherlands later this year. Miss Lu has previously performed with the Zimmerman cello in April for Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music's Cellisimo.

Prior to Cellisimo, the Zimmerman also took to the stage for Singapore National Youth Orchestra's "Of Heroes & Destinies". Under the hands of young, talented cellist Miss Melissa Ong Shi Ching, the Zimmerman cello sounded beautifully over the other instruments.

"The history behind the instrument as well as how much better a good instrument sounds inspired me and boosts my confidence in performing", says Melissa, giving credit to the antique cello.

She adds, "there always seems to be a personal stamp to an antique instrument, while a factory-made one just lacks that character". Melissa has expressed interest to loan the cello again if she has the opportunity.

For now, Melissa will have to wait, as GPA Holdings' Zimmerman cello makes the trip back to Europe!
